What the pages on this site can tell you about your garage door, and the several things they cannot.
Current as of October 2026 · hello@austingaragedoortech.com
Two doors in the same Round Rock subdivision can make the same noise and need different repairs. The weight of the sections, the size and condition of the springs, the state of the cables and rollers, the opener model and how the door was hung all change the answer. The pages here explain how garage doors in the Austin area fail and roughly what the fixes cost, so you can read them and have a sensible conversation with a technician. They cannot look at your door.
This site is not
- An inspection of your door. Only a technician standing under it, lifting it by hand with the opener disconnected, can say whether you need a spring, a cable, an opener part or a new door.
- A quote. The dollar ranges on the service and guide pages are planning figures for typical jobs across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander, Dripping Springs and Bastrop. They are not a price for your job and not a cap on it. Door size and weight, one spring or two, the opener model, parts for an older door, and access all move the number. The written estimate from the technician is the price.
- A permit ruling. We repeat what City of Austin Development Services publishes about overhead garage doors on one- and two-family homes, but we do not decide what your property needs. If you are unsure, ask the City, or your own town's building office outside the city limits.
- A licensing claim. Texas does not license garage door repair, and opener-only installers need no DPS licence unless the opener is connected to an alarm or an entry log. Nothing here says that any technician holds a licence or carries a particular policy; ask the one who arrives.
- A set of job photos. The pictures on this site illustrate the kinds of doors and faults the text describes. They are not before-and-after records of a named customer's project in Austin.
- A promise about how long parts last. Springs are rated in cycles, openers die of surges and heat, and a car can undo a new bottom section in a second. Good parts fitted properly give you the best odds; they do not change the number of times you open the door or what the weather does. Any warranty that applies is the one in the agreement you sign with the technician, plus the part maker's own terms.
- Responsible for other people's websites. Where we link out, we do it for convenience and cannot answer for what is on the far end.
- Finished. Rules and prices change and mistakes get through. If a line looks wrong or stale, tell us and we will fix it.
Work booked here is carried out by independent technicians; the referral marketing disclosure says how they are paid. And one thing that is not a disclaimer but a plain warning: if a spring has snapped, a cable has let go or the door is hanging crooked, leave it alone, keep people, pets and cars away from it, and do not pull the red release cord with the door up. If someone is hurt or pinned, call 911 before you call us. For anything else on this page that is unclear, ring (737) 265-6723 or write to hello@austingaragedoortech.com.
